Mission and Job Description: York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of Director of the Center for Community Engagement (CCE). The CCE is part of the Division of Academic Affairs, and is designed to promote the College’s positive relationship with the local community and is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in York County. The CCE focuses on projects related to local and regional economic development and neighborhood redevelopment. In keeping with the College mission, the CCE also acts as a liaison among the York College faculty, students and community leaders to promote research-based initiatives in cooperation with governmental, non-governmental, and non-profit organizations.
The CCE Director is a joint faculty/administrative appointment, reporting to the Dean of Academic Affairs. The CCE director will hold an adjunct appointment in an academic department (likely Business Administration, History and Political Science, or Behavioral Sciences), and will teach one course per semester in his/her area of expertise.
Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes: Applicants must hold a Masters degree (required) or Doctoral degree in management, real estate, urban planning, urban affairs, community/economic development, or a related field. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, possess strong interpersonal communication skills and a have proven record of accomplishment working in community affairs and urban development, as well as expertise in working with educational institutions.
