On December 18, 2013, in the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center's M&T Field House, York College graduated nearly 300 students, who heard congratulations and words of wisdom from Dr. Gunter-Smith, commencement speaker Dr. Karen Morris-Priester '02, Peter Levy, Ph.D., and fellow graduate Jeffrey C. Bortz '13.
"There's going to be a lot expected of me and I need to be as quick and professional as I can be in the workforce. Between all the classes, resume help in Career Development, and for me personally, the job with Campus Safety, I've been given a lot to work with." — Paul James Glassmoyer '13 (York, PA), Criminal Justice major.
"I've had a wonderful experience during my time at YCP, and I will miss the great friendships and relationships that I've built over these past four years. I am also appreciative of all of the professors I've had during my time here, especially Professor Yonker and Professor Taylor. I chose York for its Professional Writing program and because I was recruited to play basketball here, but I sincerely believe that York College does a great job providing a well-rounded education for all students, regardless of their major." — Jonathan Earl Markle '13 (Hatfield, PA), Professional Writing major.
"I have had some of my best experiences here at YCP, and I will greatly miss this school and everyone I had the pleasure of getting to know. I definitely had mixed feelings about graduation. I was very excited to finish my career here at York College and start my professional one. My time here at York has been the best college experience I could have asked for, and it is crazy to think that it has come to an end." — Phillip James Cavaluchi '13 (Port Carbon, PA), Business Administration major.
"I am so surprised that my time at YCP has come to an end. I'm pleased with my experience here, my peers, and the faculty that have helped me along the way. I'm also eager. I'm eager to pursue the opportunities I have been preparing for throughout my YCP career." — Sabrina Raquel Webb '13 (Westminster, MD) Recreation and Leisure Administration major.
"Overall, I've loved York College. I transferred here in the spring semester of my freshman year, and I don't regret making the switch at all. I enjoyed the two-and-a-half-hour studio classes that I got to design as a part of my major, and the photography advice that I received from Lecturer in Art, Matt Campbell, M.A. over the years. I'm going to miss all of the groups that I was lucky enough to be a part of, including YCP Rhapsody and A Capella choir, and the amazing connections that I made with people here over the love of music." — Tyler Lyons '13 (Hampstead, MD) Graphic Design major.
