CURE Children's Hospital of Uganda

The CURE Children's Hospital of Uganda (CCHU) in Mbale, Uganda, is a 30 bed teaching hospital that specializes in treating neurosurgical needs of children with hydrocephalus, spina bifida, epilepsy and brain tumors.

Students worked side by side with nurses at CCHU to learn about culture and health care in Uganda, and to share information about standards for nursing practice in the United States.

Fraternidad Christiana De Guatemala
La Guardianaia, Masaagua, Escuinta

A group of five YCP students and one community health faculty joined a team of medical professionals who provided outpatient clinic services in a village in Guatemala. The trip was organized by the Living Word Church, York, PA.

The team consisted of US and Guatemalan health care workers who conducted medical, pediatrics, dental, and maternity clinics. For many of the residents of the village, this was their only access to health care. Students assisted the team in the care that was provided.
