Mark Plevyak ’05 was the first operations intern at the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT), which is associated with the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy (HHIJGA) in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Fellow sport management majors Brian Wildasin ’08 and Chris White ’07 later followed in his footsteps at IJGT.

Plevyak, who now serves as director of member service for IJGT, and Wildasin may be seen on a new reality show on the Golf Channel that features the day-to-day routine of the 150 students at HHIJGA.“School of Golf: Hilton Head Island,” begins airing at 11 p.m. on Sept. 2. The Golf Channel estimates the eight-part series will reach more than three million viewers.

Plevyak joined the IJGT as an assistant tournament director shortly after graduating in 2005. He was promoted to tournament director before being named to his current position. As a student at York College, he worked as box office assistant for three years for the Aberdeen IronBirds, a single-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, and as a ticketing intern for the Baltimore Ravens during the 2004 season.
