YCP Exhibit Brings Paris To York

YORK, Pa. - "Paris, City of Cubism: The Emergence of French Art Deco Design," recently opened in the York College Galleries in Wolf Hall on the YCP Campus.

The comprehensive exhibition, curated by design historian Mike Klinedinst, features many fine posters, magazines, printer's specimen sheets, cosmetic packaging and other ephemera.

One of the most important and lasting legacies of Cubism, invented by Picasso and Georges Braque during their early years in Paris, is in Art Deco advertising of the 1920s and 1930s.

The exhibit will continue through Nov. 4.

The York College Galleries are open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
