YORK COLLEGE STUDENT BECOMES CERTIFIED PROTECTION OFFICER

YORK, Pa. – Carrie Lengrand, a York College student majoring in criminal justice, recently became a Certified Protection Officer through the International Foundation for Protection Officers. Lengrand worked for the YCP Department of Public Safety where she earned the required experience for the certification. She joins the ranks of more than 25,000 Certified Protection Officers in more than 42 countries.
York College provides scholarships to students so that they can earn the Certified Protection Officer designation. Students are given the opportunity to gain training and experience while working for the YCP Department of Public Safety. Day and evening classes are offered in Asset Protection and Security. There are also a wide variety of noncredit courses in Protective Services available through the College’s Office of Community and Professional Development.
