Protection Classes At York College

YORK, Pa. – The Special Programs Office of York College is now offering a series of classes for individuals and organizations concerned about protection from crime and terrorism. Courses on Officer Safety, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Customer Service, Crowd Management and Certified Protection Officer (CPO) Review have been scheduled for law enforcement and security professionals.

Classes for instructor certification in various topics such as Handcuffing and the use of pepper spray (OC) have also been scheduled.

There are also classes for the general public, employees or management personnel such as Terrorism in the U.S. An additional menu of personal protection classes may be scheduled at off-campus locations. These include Rape and Assault Prevention, Mail Center Security and the Basics of Protection.

York College has afforded hands-on learning options for its students and alumni for the past two decades. The Protective Services Programs are a major part of that effort. Both York College students and alumni receive discounts on these programs.
