FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

YORK, Pa. -- York College adjunct history professor Scott Gyenes will be grading papers well after school has let out for the summer.

Gyenes was chosen to be a reader for the Advanced Placement World History Examination, from June 1 – 10, at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The College Board has invited about 300 history educators to review the essay portion of the exam. Over 64,000 students will take the AP world history exam nationwide on May 3. The test includes a multiple-choice section, as well as an essay portion. On average, Gyenes will grade about 88 essays per day and about 619 essays total.

Gyenes, also an AP history teacher at York Country Day School, has a unique double-background that will be beneficial in grading the exams. To be eligible to be a reader you must be an active faculty member and have taught at least one semester of a comparable AP course within the past three years. If chosen to be a reader, you hold that position for six years.
