FORMER SENATOR HARRIS WOFFORD TO PRESENT COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS AT YORK COLLEGE

YORK, Pa. – Former Pennsylvania Senator Harris Wofford will be this spring’s Commencement Speaker at York College of Pennsylvania.
More than 600 students will receive their diplomas during the ceremony, which takes place on Saturday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m. on the Campus Mall. Awarded will be 451 bachelor of science degrees, 168 bachelor of arts degrees, 31 master of business administration degrees, 3 master of education degrees, 9 master of science (Nursing) degrees and 15 associate degrees.
Senator Wofford, who will receive an honorary degree at the Commencement, was United States Senator from Pennsylvania from 1991-1994. He was instrumental in the formation of the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and, most recently, America’s Promise.
In addition to the Senator, Lorraine O’Connor Mitrick, York County Commission President, will also receive an honorary degree.
