YORK, Pa. – Approximately 1,000 alumni, students and friends of York College were treated to popcorn, soda and tours of the brand new Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center, Saturday, April 29, on the West Campus of York College.
Following a slideshow of the project, from initiation in 1999 until about a week ago, distinguished guests, including college president, Dr. George W. Waldner, and board chairman, Tom Wolf, gave remarks, viewed a video of the completed building, then encouraged the guests to tour the building.
The 160,000 square-foot building, the largest ever constructed on the YCP campus, is the new home of Spartan athletics and the Physical Education Department, as well as recreational and fitness activities.
York College’s Capital Campaign, A Time to Act, provided vital funding for the construction of the Center.
