YORK COLLEGE TO OFFER DEFENSIVE TACTICS CLASSES

YORK, Pa. - The Special Programs Office at York College of Pennsylvania is sponsoring a two-day Defensive Tactics class on Saturday and Sunday, April 1 & 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oriented toward those employed in Law Enforcement, Corrections or Security, the course covers Use of Force, Control Techniques, Blocks and Conflict Resolution Techniques. The course emphasis is on physically controlling an aggressive person in a safe, efficient manner. Participants receive a certificate of attendance from the Special Programs Office along with an extensive list of references for further learning. Cost of the program is $125 with a $25 discount for York College students and alumni.

In addition to the Defensive Tactics class, the following classes will be offered:

April 15 - OCAT (Oleoresin Capsicum Aerosol Training)
April 16  - OCAT Instructor class 

May 20 - Practical and Tactical Handcuffing class

May 21 - PATH Instructor Certification class

June 17 & 18 - Officer Safety and Survival

Course enrollees must be employed in Law Enforcement, Corrections or Security or be Criminal Justice majors.
