YORK COLLEGE ADDS TWO ENGINEERING MAJORS
Posted March 14, 2006FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
YORK, Pa. – Fall 2006 will mark the beginning of York College’s Engineering Department expansion. At the end of August, students can begin to earn a bachelor’s degree in its new majors – electrical and computer engineering. The expansion features the new Automation and Robotics Lab in Grantley Hall.
Electrical and computer engineering are among the fastest growing areas in the engineering field. The students in these majors will draw upon science, mathematics and social sciences to help prepare them for a career. Electrical and computer engineers design devices, systems and processes for every industry and technology including some consumer products such as cell phones and personal computers. Computer engineers are involved in the design of computer hardware and programs. Each engineering student is required to complete three semesters of professional work through the cooperative education program.
To obtain more information about a degree in electrical or computer engineering, please contact Dr. James Kearns, Associate Professor of Physical Science, at 717-815-1522 or e-mail jkearns@ycp.edu.
