    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

YORK, Pa. - York College Criminal Justice students have joined six other universities in an E-Communication project titled “Communication Across the Atlantic.”

The E-Communication discussion project gives YCP Criminal Justice students, who are enrolled in Senior Seminar, the opportunity to interpret and understand contemporary policy and popular concerns around crime. Students get an international dimension to their studies and the project enhances and develops students’ independent learning skills.

“This project has enabled our students to reflect and comment on other student’s views on various Criminal Justice issues, says Jennifer Dierickx, assistant professor of Behavioral Science at YCP. “E-learning projects like this allow programs with similar curriculums to engage their students in a discussion that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.”

Institutions participating in the project include YCP, Manchester Metropolitan University in Britain, University of Brighton, University of Westminster in Britain, University of North Carolina-Wilmington, University of North Carolina-Pembroke, and University of West Florida.

For additional information about the project, please contact Jennifer Dierickx at 815-6477 or e-mail jdierick@ycp.edu.
