OFFICER SAFETY CLASS OFFERED BY YORK COLLEGE

YORK, Pa. – York College of Pennsylvania will be holding a class on Officer Safety and Survival March 18 & 19. “Officer Safety for the Security Professional” will address the growing need for security personnel to confront potentially dangerous situations.

The two-day class provides instruction on topics such as Mental Preparation, Threat Assessment, Legal Survival and Communications Skills. Hands-on instruction is given on Body Stance and Positioning, Approaching People, Domestic Response, Approaching Vehicles and Legal Survival Skills.

The class is being taught by Randy J. Rice, a veteran security manager who has overseen the training for 26 regional shopping centers. Rice is a Certified Protection Officer Instructor (CPOI) and holds instructor credentials in numerous topical areas. He is a member of the South Central Pennsylvania Terrorism Task Force, ASIS International and the International Foundation for Protection Officers.
