YORK COLLEGE HOSTS PROGRAM FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS

YORK, PA – York College’s Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, Eta Eta Chapter, and WellSpan Health Nursing will present “Technology and the Nursing Shortage” Tuesday, November 29, from 7 -9 p.m. in DeMeester Theater on the York College campus.
Susan K. Newbold, MS, RNBC, FAAN, FHIMSS, will demonstrate how technologies can be employed to address the challenge of the current shortage of nurses and to manage the increasing healthcare workload. The presentation is intended for all healthcare providers including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and nursing faculty and students from York College.
Newbold co-wrote the 2004 “Technology’s Role in Addressing Maryland’s Nursing Shortage: Innovations & Examples.” She is a healthcare informatics consultant and an instructor for the online graduate nursing program at Excelsior College, Albany, NY.
