How does Graham Packaging manufacture one million bottles per day? How does Starbucks process and distribute the 50 million pounds of coffee it holds in its warehouse? These successful enterprises are a result of the coordination of a sophisticated network of resources.

The management of these resources is encompassed in Operations Management, where allocating resources and managing personnel are part of a company’s strategic plan.

Dave Greisler is passionate about the application of theory and practice. He challenges the students in his operations management class to take the theory from the classroom and to apply it with one of the companies that have agreed to mentor these students. What better way for his students to learn how to write a business plan, organize work, allocate resources or direct and lead others?

Find out more about Dave Greisler's unique approach to teaching his York College students in our most recent "What Did You Learn Today?" segment.
