FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

York College men's basketball coach Jeff Gamber has been named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III National Coach of the Year. Gamber earned the national honor after leading the Spartans to a record of 28-4 and a berth in the NCAA Division III Final Four.

The award is the third post-season honor for the Spartan mentor who just completed his 28th season at the helm of the York College men's basketball program. Gamber was named the Capital Athletic Conference Coach of the Year after leading the green and white to a league-leading regular season mark of 12-2 and the school's first-ever post-season tournament title. The conference honor is the fourth time that Gamber has been recognized by his peers in the league. Gamber also received the NABC Middle Atlantic Coach of the Year award, the first time he has earned the regional award.

Gamber is honored to be receiving a national award. "It is certainly a great honor to be recognized by the NABC," says Gamber. "The credit for this award really goes to everyone involved in our men's basketball program."

Gamber will receive his award at Sunday night's "Guardians of the Game Awards Show" in St. Louis, home of the 2005 NCAA Division I Final Four.
