Defensive Tactics course offered at York College

The Special Programs Office at York College of Pennsylvania will sponsor a one day defensive tactics class on Sat., Oct. 2, 2004, from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Oriented toward those employed in law enforcement, corrections or security, the course covers use of force, control techniques, blocks, conflict resolution techniques, and related items with an emphasis on physically controlling an aggressive person in a safe, efficient manner.

Participants receive a certificate of attendance from the York College Special Programs Office, along with an extensive list of references for further learning. To register or for more information, contact (717) 815-1451 or special-programs@ycp.edu.

York College has been a leader in Criminal Justice education since 1969. York offers an extensive array of professional development programs such as non-credit courses through the Special Programs Office, tuition waivers into professional certification programs such as the Certified Protection Officer (CPO) program and an extensive Criminal Justice course menu. Students may take day or evening classes in asset protection/security, juvenile justice, corrections and policing.
