YORK COLLEGE COMMENCEMENT

York, Pennsylvania -- Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell will be this spring's Commencement Speaker at York College of Pennsylvania. More than 600 students will receive their diplomas during the ceremony, which takes place on Saturday, May 15, at 11:30 a.m. on the Campus Mall. Awarded will be approximately 450 Bachelor of Science degrees, 175 Bachelor of Arts degrees, 20 Master of Business degrees, and 10 Associate degrees.

Governor Rendell, who will receive an Honorary degree at the Commencement, is a former District Attorney and Mayor of Philadelphia. In the latter position he was credited with reviving the "City of Brotherly Love" as a center of commerce, tourism, culture, and education. Rendell became the Commonwealth's 45th Governor last year bringing his commitment of reform to the state level.

In addition to the Governor, Tim Grumbacher, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of The Bon-Ton Stores, Incorporated, will also receive an Honorary degree. He's a York resident who helped establish Bon-Ton as one of the largest independent department stores in the country.
