Annual Student Scholars Week

York, Pennsylvania -- The work of more than 100 students at York College of Pennsylvania will soon be the focus of special attention on campus. The Seventh Annual Student Scholarship Day, April 26, kicks off a week that will showcase the work of student scholars in all disciplines of course study. Projects are expected to come from the Science, Engineering, History, Business, English, Nursing, Sport Management, and Art departments.
This year will mark the second for a student film festival. It will be held Monday the 26th beginning at 6 p.m. in DeMeester Theater. Various other activities will occur throughout the week, culminating Thursday evening with the awarding of prizes.
New this year will be a lecture titled "Space Exploration Initiatives," presented by NASA's Donner Grigsby. It will be held on Wednesday, the 28th at 6 p.m. in DeMeester Theater. Grigsby is a computer security official. The presentation will address space flight and show some spectacular images taken by the Hubble telescope. It will include an overview of flight vehicles and provide some interesting technical aspects about the Advanced Space Transportation Program, propulsion systems, Hyper X planes and deep space motors. The program will be capped-off with exciting discussion about Mars and it's importance to Earth science.
