YORK COLLEGE CRIMINAL JUSTICE STUDENTS GO PUBLIC
York, Pennsylvania – Nine students in the Asset Protection and Security class at York College were recently given a research project regarding issues on security. Little did they know their essays would be published on the International Foundation for Protection Officers Web site.
The articles chosen to be posted cover several areas regarding criminal justice and protection issues. Such articles include: Crowd Panic: Proactive Versus Reactive Responses, by Heather Kessler; The Evolution of Airline Security Since 9/11, by Alycia Taylor and Sara Steedman; The Role of Human Relations for Security Officers, by Adria Strausbaugh; Respondeat Superior: A Security Supervisor’s Perspective, by Stephen Davis; A Brief Look at Contract Security, by William Beattie; and The Use of Interagency Liaisons in the Fight Against Terrorism, by Linda Kropp, Kylee Notaro, and Lindsay Sokol.
By contributing articles and conducting research, the students assist the nonprofit foundation and add value to the IFPO Web site. The relationship between York College and the IFPO has enabled York students to receive tuition waivers for IFPO certification programs.
