Posted June 23, 1999FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
York, Pennsylvania--Mark G. Rank, a native of Red Lion, has been appointed Director of Development and Stewardship Programs at York College of Pennsylvania. Mr. Rank comes to York College from Landon School, an independent school in Bethesda, MD, where he was Associate Director of Development for Major Gifts. His prior professional experience includes a three year tenure at Webb Institute (a four year college of engineering in Long Island), where he served as both Director of Student Affairs and Associate Director of Development (the college's chief development officer).
Mr. Rank, who says that it's wonderful to finally relocate back to his home area, feels doubly fortunate to join York College and its Development Office. "I lived out of the area for the past 9 years, and during that span have been impressed with York College's growth and especially its national recognition as what might be the best value in private education in the country. The Development Office is already doing well, but it's also forward-minded, and fund raising efforts are growing every year. It's exciting to realize that I have become part of something that has such a bright future, with huge potential to grow."
Mr. Rank graduated from Susquehanna University (Selinsgrove, PA) in 1990 with a B.A. in English (summa cum laude) and earned his M.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1993.
