Workshop Delivered Via Satellite

York, Pennsylvania--The Nonprofit Management Development Center (NPMDC), a cooperative project between York College, the York Foundation and the United Way, is sponsoring a teleconference on Thursday, October 15 at York College of Pennsylvania in DeMeester Theater. This interactive satellite workshop brings together experts and nonprofit leaders to discuss how to make an organization stronger. 200 people will be attending this broadcast from 4:00 - 6:30 P.M.

The mission of the Center is to bring business professionals, faculty, and students together in consulting teams which work with nonprofit social service agencies. The consulting teams provide management assistance, helping the agencies to function better.

The teleconference will explore how an organization builds the board of directors it needs. Topics will include: why boards are important, the board's legal duties, strategies for identifying and recruiting new board members, and the process of building a strongly committed, high functioning board.

This event will be sponsored by York College of PA, United Way of York County, York County of Commerce, Leadership York, Inc., and York Nonprofit Management Development Center.
