York College Professor Selected to Attend C-SPAN Seminar

York, Pennsylvania--Professor Dominic Dellicarpini of York College of Pennsylvania will join 30 other college and university professors from across the country for C-SPAN's "January Seminar for Professors." Professors from disciplines as diverse as political science, journalism, speech, communications, and public policy will attend. The seminar will focus on creative ways to use C-SPAN's public affairs programming in the college classroom and in research.

Dellicarpini, Director of Composition at York College, was selected through a competitive application process open to all of the 4,500 college faculty members of "C-SPAN in the Classroom," the cable network's free national membership service for educators. Eligibility to attend the Seminar for Professors is one of the benefits provided by "C-SPAN in the Classroom."

The "January Seminar for Professors" will take place Monday and Tuesday, January, 11-12, at C-SPAN's Washington, DC office, located two blocks from the Capitol.

The seminar is organized by C-SPAN's Education Relations department, which through "C-SPAN in the Classroom" provides free support materials to educators who utilize the network's programming for teaching and research. Since the first seminar took place in 1987, more than 700 professors have visited Washington, DC to participate in the program. This "Seminar for Professors" marks C-SPAN's 26th conference.
