Engineering Studenst Take 2nd Place at National Competition

York, Pennsylvania--Two senior mechanical engineering students at York College of Pennsylvania recently competed in the National Hydropower Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada. The students built a Hydropower Water Wheel. Their model took second place in the competition, which featured approximately 20 other schools.

Jeff Strausbaugh of York and Kimberly Johnson of Pasadena created a hydropower wheel from scratch. The objective was to lift a 1.5 kilogram weight at the fastest rate. The YCP students were able to lift their weight in 20.85 seconds
