Posted January 17, 2000FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
York, Pennsylvania--York College of Pennsylvania's senior class will soon learn how to wine and dine clients, negotiate with employers and avoid burnout on the job. Throw the textbooks aside--this is knowledge for the real world.
From late January until early April, York College's Offices of Career Services and Residential Programs and Campus Wellness will be presenting “The Senior Series,” a voluntary “dis-orientation” program designed to help graduates meet the personal and professional challenges of the 21st Century.
Seven panel presentations will cover topics such as how to “mix and mingle” at receptions, plan a family and career, and handle ethical issues in the workplace. These events are open to York College students only, and most of the panels are free to students, although two require pre-registration and a small fee.
Following is a calendar of “The Senior Series” events:
January 27 “Ethics in the Job Search and the World of Work”
February 3 “Making Sure the $$ Doesn't Stop”
February 10 “Receptions: The Art of Mixing and Mingling” (pre-registration, $4)
February 17 “Finding Balance”
March 16 “Careers, Marriage and Family Planning”
March 23 “The Offer: More Than Just a Dollar Figure”
April 6 “Wine, Dine and Act Fine” (pre-registration, $5)
