York College Offers High School Students a Taste of College--and Course Credits
Posted February 4, 2000FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
York, Pennsylvania--This summer, York College of Pennsylvania will give local high school students an opportunity to attend classes, earn college credit and live in a residence hall—all at a reduced cost.
York College's “Summer 2000 College Experience,” to be held July 10 through Aug. 9, has been designed to give qualified high school students a preview of college life before their senior year. Participants will attend one or two entry-level courses with regular college students and even have the option of living on-campus for a week.
Students can choose from a variety of introductory courses. Course credits can be used toward a York College degree or be transferred to another college or university.
Resident students will be housed on-campus July 9 through July 14 under the supervision of a resident assistant/peer advisor. They will participate in college life discussion groups and enrichment activities prepared by Residential Programs, Career Services and Student Activities.
For an application and more information, including costs and a complete list of course offerings, please call Jessica Bryson at (717) 815-1359. Applications are due April 10.
