York College Professor Receives Fulbright Award

York, Pennsylvania--Keith Peterman, Ph.D., professor of physical science at York College, has been awarded a Fulbright grant to Volgograd State Pedagogical University in Volgograd, Russia. He will be leaving for Russia on May 13 and will be returning to York in July.

This is the second time that Peterman has received a Fulbright Award. He participated in a full-year research project in Germany in 1984-1985.

Peterman is one of approximately 2,000 United States grantees who will travel abroad for the 2000/2001 academic year through the Fulbright program. Established in 1946 under legislation introduced by the late Senator J. William Fulbright of Arkansas, the program's purpose is to build mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and the rest of the world.
