York College Forms Postal Customer Council with USPS
Posted October 25, 2000FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
York, Pennsylvania--York College and the United States Postal Service (USPS) recently formed a Postal Customer Council (PCC) that will serve the York and Adams County area.
The goal of the Council is to foster and maintain close working relationships between members and the Postal Service. Through regular meetings, vendor events, mailer clinics and seminars, PCC members are able to stay informed of the latest postal developments and work closely with local post offices to make mail service more efficient, timely and profitable.
The York/Adams Area PCC is co-chaired by Randy J. Rice, York College mail services manager, and Dennis Lewis, postmaster of York. The Council is now accepting new members. Interested mailers should contact Rice at (717) 815-1476 or Lewis at (717) 751-4609.
Membership in a PCC also provides mailers with a forum to discuss and resolve mailing issues with local postmasters. PCC members can interact regularly with local postal managers. They also meet other mailers and learn how the Postal Service can meet their needs and solve their mailing problems.
The York/Adams Area PCC will hold its first event on Dec. 5 at York College. Postal Service representatives will discuss a pending rate increase and how it would affect local businesses. The registration deadline is Nov. 27.
The PCC program began in 1961, and today there are more than 300 Councils nationwide representing 300,000 mailers.
