Safe Boating Courses to Be Held March Through June

York, Pennsylvania--York College and the York Flotilla of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will hold four, eight-hour introductory boating safety courses at York College this spring. The course introduces all aspects of safe boating and satisfies the mandatory education requirements in Pennsylvania for personal watercraft operators.
Students who pass the course exam will receive a Pennsylvania Boating Safety Certificate and a Certificate of Graduation. The Safety Certificate is required to operate jet skis and similar type crafts, and the Certificate of Graduation allows holders to obtain discounts on boating insurance.
The first course will be held on March 10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The second course will be held on April 17 and 19 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. each evening. The third course will be held on May 7 and 9 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. each evening, and the last course of the season will be held on June 4 and 6 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. each evening.
