Personal Finance Series Begins April 5

York, Pennsylvania--York College is offering a two-part seminar to the general public in April and May titled "Personal Finance 100 Series." Investments 101 & 102, the first three classes, cover investment strategies, while Estate Planning 101 & 102, the last two classes, explain the many components of estate planning.
Together, the ten-hour seminar is designed to help participants gain control of their finances and enjoy a comfortable retirement. The investment classes are scheduled for April 5, 12 & 19, and the estate planning classes are scheduled for May 3 & 10. All classes will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the John Hancock Room of Manor Northeast.
The investment course costs $59 per person, and the estate planning course costs $49 per person. Pre-registration for both courses costs $89, a saving of $19. Registration fees include course workbooks and a free financial planning consultation after the conclusion of the seminar.
Investments 101 & 102 teach how to select investments that match personal objectives, make money grow tax-free and avoid common investment mistakes. Financial planning experts will clearly explain the advantages and disadvantages of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and annuities.
Estate Planning 101 & 102 teach the many aspects of estate planning, which helps shield hard earned assets from federal taxes after a person's death. The classes will explain estate documents, basic Estate Tax saving strategies and ways to transfer assets. Financial planning experts will also share ways to prepare for long-term care costs.
