Pianist John Einhaus to Perform April 10

York, Pennsylvania--Local pianist John Einhaus will be featured in a faculty recital at York College on April 10 at 7 p.m. in MAC Recital Hall. He will perform selections from Bach, Haydn, Beethoven and Liszt.

Einhaus is a native of Fawn Grove, Pa. and a member of the teaching faculty at York College. He has captivated audiences up and down the East Coast of the United States and Canada with his intensely emotional performances.

Background: Einhaus began playing the piano at age 9. A year later, he was recommended to the Peabody Preparatory, where, as an honors student, he received numerous scholarships and awards. After high school, he entered the Johns Hopkins University as a mechanical engineering student. Three years later, however, with renewed inspiration, he decided to accept the challenge of a career as a pianist.

He is an honors graduate of Rutgers University and a recipient of the Marsano Burian Award for outstanding musical achievement. He received a Masters of Music degree from the Mannes College of Music under the tutelage of Pavlina Dokovska, Arkady Aronov and Boris Slutsky. He has participated in master classes with such luminaries as Claude Frank and Evelyne Crochet, and he was once invited to play for New York City Mayor Rudolf Giuliani.
