York, Pennsylvania--Five York College criminal justice students will become actors on Friday, June 29 when the Professional Security Training Network films segments on campus for its new 12-tape training series. The training videos will be distributed throughout the United States.

A variety of security response scenarios will be taped at York College. Students will help act out the apprehension and detention of a thief, crime scene management, the handling of an intoxicated person and the response to a medical emergency.

"This is a great way for our criminal justice students to demonstrate their knowledge and build their resumes," said Chris Hertig, assistant professor of behavioral science at York College.

Taping will begin at 9 a.m. and will continue throughout most of the day. The students will be paid actors' wages.

The Basic Security Officer Training Series is a professional video production that will be marketed to organizations and security firms throughout the country. More information about the Professional Security Training Network can be found on the Internet at www.pstn.com.

Media members are encouraged to attend the taping sessions. Please direct all media requests to John Ertter, York College News Bureau Editor, at (717) 815-1309.
