York, Pennsylvania—York College of Pennsylvania has once again been ranked as a "best value" among colleges and universities in the North by U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges." York College offers the lowest tuition rate of any institution ranked in that category.
Only colleges and universities ranked "above average academically" by the annual publication were considered for this recognition. York College's high ranking is based on several indicators of academic quality including student retention and graduation rates, faculty resources, student selectivity and alumni giving.
This is the eighth consecutive year that "U.S. News & World Report" has recognized York College for its academic excellence and value.
The "U.S. News & World Report" rankings were released on Sept. 6. A complete list of the rankings can be found on the magazine's Internet site, www.usnews.com.
York College is a private, independent institution offering baccalaureate and associate degrees in 70 majors and a master's degree in business administration. York College currently enrolls approximately 4,000 full-time students and 1,300 part-time and graduate students.
York College's slogan, "Excellence and value in private education," reflects the institution's high academic standards and low tuition rate, which is currently $7,000 per year.
