Can the Economy Recover? Economic Briefing to Be Held Nov. 28

(YORK, PA)—The Waypoint York College Institute will present "The Economic Outlook After Sept. 11, 2001: Can the Economy Recover?" as its quarterly economic briefing on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 a.m. at the Yorktowne Hotel. The guest speaker will be Edmond J. Seifried, a nationally recognized speaker on economic issues and forecasting techniques.
The event is co-sponsored by the York County Chamber of Commerce Economics Club.
Seifried will assess the probability and speed of an economic recovery from the Sept. 11 tragedy and will comment on the effectiveness of the monetary and fiscal efforts applied thus far. He will also present an economic forecast for 2002 and beyond.
Ken Slaysman, executive director of the Waypoint York College Institute, will also present an economic outlook for 2002 that focuses on the south central Pennsylvania region.

Seifried is a professor of economics and business at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. He also serves as a consultant to the banking industry and is a published author. Seifried is a faculty member of numerous business schools including Stonier Graduate School of Banking, School of Banking of the South, Graduate School of Retail Bank Management, and the American Bankers Association Business of Banking School.
The next economic briefing will be held at York College on March 14, 2002.
