FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

York, Pennsylvania—As the weather chills and the air fills with holiday spirit, York College students recognize that many less fortunate children are relying on a magical visit from Santa Claus to bring them gifts this Christmas season. Many students have volunteered to become Santa's helpers.

York College of Pennsylvania's fourth annual Christmas Gift Tree Party will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Buechel Lounge (located in the Iosue Student Union). Approximately 50 needy children from the York community will receive Christmas warmth and personal gifts from York College students. Throughout the night, the children will also be entertained by a variety of activities and a surprise visit from Santa Claus.

Prior to the party, York College students and student organizations will purchase gifts from a child's Christmas wish list. The students will then hand deliver the gifts to their "adopted" child during the party and remain with them throughout the event. The Christmas Gift Tree Party is sponsored by York College's Residence Life Service and Training Committee and ACCESS-York.

Media members are encouraged to attend the Christmas Gift Tree Party. Please direct all media requests to John Ertter, York College News Bureau Editor, at (717) 815-1309.
