"Surviving Terrorism: A Community Forum" to Be Held Jan. 30

York, Pennsylvania—On Wednesday, Jan. 30, York College of Pennsylvania will hold a free, public forum on how to survive the threat of terrorism as a community. Panelists representing four local organizations will provide psychological, spiritual, emergency and safety perspectives. "Surviving Terrorism: A Community Forum" will be held in DeMeester Theater from 7 to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be available in the lobby beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The event is being presented by the Coalition for the Campaign for America's Mental Health.
The forum will feature four panelists: Kate Bortner, crime prevention coordinator for York City Police; Patrick McFadden, executive director of the York County Department of Emergency Services; Rabbi Irwin Goldenberg of Temple Beth Israel; and Michael Ditsky, a psychologist with WellSpan Behavioral Health. The forum will be narrated by Sandra Bennett of WPMT-TV (FOX 43).
Members of the Coalition for the Campaign for America's Mental Health include York College Counseling Services, Contact York, Catholic Charities, Community Progress Council, Children's Home of York, Area Agency on Aging, Mental Health Association of York County, York and Adams Counties' Agencies for Mental Health/Mental Retardation and Drug and Alcohol Programs, Adams/Hanover Counseling Services, and the United Way of York County.
