FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

York, Pennsylvania -- We all have hidden talents; some of us find them some don't. Dr. Gary Bittner, Associate Professor of Behavioral Science at York College of Pennsylvania, discovered a few years ago that he had an ability to put brush to canvas. He is now considered an outstanding amateur painter. Dr. Bittner will be exhibiting some of his works from September 3 to October 11 in York College's Schmidt Library. The exhibit will include oils, pastels, and drawings.

Bittner took lessons several years ago and audited courses in oil painting, figure drawing, and pastels. He has also taken numerous painting courses through the York Art Association. Dr. Bittner is now a Trustee of the York Art Association.

He has been teaching at YCP for nearly 30 years. He is also on the Board of Directors of the University Center for Peace Research at the University of Vienna in Austria. Three of his works are on display in Europe, two in Vienna and the other in the Netherlands.

The upcoming York College show will take place in the Special Collections' Room of Schmidt Library, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by special appointment. For more information, call (717) 815-1439.
