Former Spy to Discuss War and Terrorism

York, Pennsylvania -- Thomas Twetten, a former spymaster, will present a lecture on global terrorism and the Iraq war on Thursday, March 27, at York College of Pennsylvania. Twetten is a former Deputy Director of Operations for the CIA, having worked for the agency 34 years. He spent most of his career in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa heading clandestine operations. Twetten was twice awarded the Distinguished Intelligence Medal, the CIA's highest honor.

He was born in Iowa and received a bachelors degree from Iowa State University and a master's in international affairs at Columbia University. Twetten retired in 1995 to Vermont where he now works as a bookbinder and dealer in antiquarian books.

Thursday's lecture is free and open to the public. It begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Student Union. For more information you may call 815-1309.
