York, Pennsylvania -- The Board of Trustees at York College of Pennsylvania has approved a $500 tuition hike for full-time students for the 2003-2004 academic year. Tuition will rise from $7,500 to $8,000, an increase of approximately 6.7 percent. The overall cost next year for students living on campus will also go up less than 7 percent to about $14,500. This includes tuition, fees, room, and board. Room charges vary depending on the type of accommodation selected. The current cost is $13,600.
Dr. George Waldner, President of York College, says, "We are experiencing continued pressure on our budget from energy costs, as well as health and liability insurance premiums. We continue to strive to contain our charges to the lowest level consistent with a high quality program."
