New Mini Baja Car
Posted May 22, 2003FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
York, Pennsylvania - A send off ceremony will be held Wednesday, June 4, at York College of Pennsylvania. The "Mini Baja" team, a group of engineering students, has built an "off road" car, similar to a dune buggy. The team and vehicle are headed to Dayton, Ohio for an international competition, where they'll face 150 cars from colleges throughout the U.S. and around the world.
This is the second year York College will participate in the competition. The goal of the project is to provide undergraduate students with a simulation of "real-world engineering." Each competition offers a variety of events for the team to display the versatility of their design.
The ceremony (great photo op) will take place at the YCP McKay building on Grantley Road at 1 p.m. Students and faculty will be available for interviews. This project is sponsored by Fishel Chrysler Plymouth Jeep, Harley Davidson, Duratek, and the Quigley family. Numerous goods and services were provided by other local companies.
Please call Randy Gray in the PR Office, (717) 815-1309, if you plan to attend Wednesday's event.
