Do Platanos Go Wit' Collard Greens?

York, Pennsylvania – On September 23, self-proclaimed professor of hip-hop, David Lamb will speak at York College of Pennsylvania. His lecture, among other festivities, is being held in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month. During his speech he will discuss the relationship between Latin-American and African-American cultures. He will touch upon the similarities and struggles they share as well as their link to music.

Originally from the Queens Projects in New York, Lamb earned his BA in economics at Hunter College and studied law at New York University. At Princeton, Lamb received his master’s degree in public affairs. He now teaches society and hip-hop culture at John Jay College in New York.

Lamb, who has written a book titled, Do Platanos Go Wit’ Collard Greens, has been visiting various colleges discussing cultural issues.
