York College Hosts Sally Ride

York, Pennsylvania -- "Our future lies with today's kids and tomorrow's space exploration." So says former astronaut Sally Ride, America's first woman in space. On September 8, 2003, Dr. Ride will speak at York College of Pennsylvania, as part of the annual Cultural Series.
Sally Ride is an author, a professor of physics at the University of California, and the winner of numerous honors, including the Jefferson Award for Public Service. She also initiated and headed EarthKam, an Internet-based NASA project that allows middle-school classes to shoot and download photos of Earth from space.
The upcoming lecture takes place in Wolf Gym A, beginning at 7:30 p.m., and is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. For more information please call the York College Campus Programming Center at (717) 815-1239.
