November 21, 2017
Alice in Wonderland 2017

York College’s Division of Theatre will present “Alice in Wonderland,” this season’s family-friendly production for the holiday season, at 10 a.m.Dec. 9, in the Waldner Performing Arts Center. Tickets are free, but reservations are recommended as seating is limited for this general admission performance. Seating reservations are available at www.ycp.edu/theatre or by calling the box office at 717.600.3868.

Directed by theatre professor Suzanne Delle, this 45-minute version of the famous story by Lewis Carroll follows Alice (Kyla Tacopina, junior theatre major from Breezy Point, N.Y.) and her encounters with favorite characters including hula-hooping Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum (Amalea Williams, sophomore theatre major from Hanover and Kayla Manigault, first-year theatre major from Baltimore); a madly musical Tea Party with the Mad Hatter (Kelsey Snively, sophomore theatre major from Roebling, N.J.), March Hare (Mitchell Nease, senior theatre major from Harrisburg), and Door Mouse (Noah Garrett, first-year theatre major from Coeur D’Alene , Idaho); and croquet with the Queen of Hearts (ShaiQuana Bailey, senior public relations major from York).

Students involved in this production have been using the semester not only to create this new version but also to learn about the magic of children’s theatre and the art of adaptation. They are incredibly excited to share all that they have learned with a new generation of theatre-goers and to inspire local children to love the art form that our students are so mad about.
