Jazz Concert

York College faculty artist Jeff Stabley will be joined by an all-star group of jazz muisicians for a one-time performance at 3 p.m., Feb. 10, in DeMeester Recital Hall, Evelyn and Earle Wolf Hall. The event is open to the public.

Joining Stabley (drums) on stage will be some of the up-and-coming names in modern jazz: Tim Thompson on trumpet, Tim Green on saxophone, George Burton on piano, and Eric Wheeler on bass. The group will play jazz standards in the acoustic, straight-ahead modern jazz style. The performance will include compositions by Miles Davis, Johnny Mercer, George Gershwin and Benny Golson.

Stabley is a percussionist who performs regularly in the area with some of the best musicians in jazz today. His musical tastes and range are wide, and his influences include not only mainstream jazz, but also hip-hop and world music.
