Baroque Chamber Ensemble

Gretchen Dekker

York College faculty members Gretchen Dekker and Jennifer Herrera-Mullar will present an exploration of stylish pieces written before 1750 by Renaissance and Baroque composers at 3 p.m., Jan. 27, in the DeMeester Recital Hall (Evelyn and Earle Wolf Hall). The program, which will feature harpsichord and portative organ as well as the violin in both solo and ensemble works, is open to the public free of charge.

Dekker is professor of aural skills and early music history as well as a staff accompanist at York College. She studied harpsichord in Amsterdam with the late Gustav Leonhardt. Herrera-Mullar is professor of violin and is currently pursuing a secondary advanced degree in genetic counseling. Both also teach privately through the York College Prep Community Music School, and are alumnae of the Peabody Conservatory.
