York College is accepting applications for full-tuition scholarships available to two incoming freshmen beginning in the fall of 2013. The Brougher American Constitution Scholarships are funded by the Brougher Foundation and will be awarded to students who demonstrate understanding of the rights and liberties delineated in the U.S. Constitution and how these principles relate to the concept of free enterprise.
To be eligible, students meet the following requirements:
Following a review of the letters of application and academic credentials, up to 10 finalists will be invited to campus from 1-5 p.m. on April 7, 2013, to meet with members of the Brougher American Constitution Scholarship Committee. These candidates will be asked to write a 500-750 word essay referencing the Bill of Rights and the United States Constitution, on the following topic : American Freedom/Free Enterprise. The Committee will review the essays and select two award recipients who will be notified accordingly within two weeks of the competition.
