'You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown' opens Oct. 26 at York College
York College’s Theatre Division kicks off its season with the family-friendly musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 26-29, in the Perko Playpen theatre in the Waldner Performing Arts Center. Based on the beloved comic strip characters, this updated version of the 1967 show features new songs and arrangements. Tickets are free but require a reservation, which can be made at Eventbrite.com or by calling 717-600-3868.
In “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” the audience is invited to spend a day in the life of Charlie Brown (Ben Eisenhour, junior theatre major from Mount Wolf) and the rest of the Peanuts gang in this lighthearted musical. Based on the comic PEANUTS by Charles M. Shulz and directed by Erin Lippard, director of vocal studies, this comical adventure comes alive to answer questions about the iconic characters the audience has known and loved for over six decades. Will Lucy (Vicky Cox, first-year mass communications major from Vineland, NJ) get Schroeder (Santiago Sanchez, senior music major from York) to stop playing the piano long enough to kiss her? Will Snoopy (James Manjo, senior music major from Derwood, MD) shoot down the infamous Red Baron? Will Linus (Josh Starkey, freshman undeclared major from Aberdeen, MD) give up his blanket? And will Sally (Reva Thompson, junior music major from Bowie, MD) ever get an A+?
