Hong Kong-based portfolio manager to discuss ‘Global Financial Markets and Asset Allocation’ at York College on Oct. 7

A Hong Kong-based portfolio manager will discuss “Global Financial Markets and Asset Allocation” at York College’s Weinstock Lecture Hall at 2 p.m., Oct. 7. The talk by Binay Chandgothia is open to the public free of charge. 

Chandgothia is portfolio manager for Principal Portfolio Strategies, the multi-asset allocation boutique of Principal Global Investors. He has more than 23 years of experience in portfolio management across equities, fixed income and asset allocation. Prior to his current role, he served as chief investment officer for Principal Global Investors (Hong Kong) and Principal Asset Management (Asia), where he was responsible for overseeing investments of the group in the Hong Kong region, including asset allocations for retirement products. 

Chandgothia joined the Principal Financial Group in 2000 in India and was the deputy chief investment officer of Principal's Indian Mutual Fund operations before moving over to Hong Kong in 2005. Prior to that, he spent seven years in various portfolio management roles with India's largest banking group, State Bank of India.
