York College will host American hotelier and business author Chip Conley, who will present the inaugural address of The Chloé Eichelberger Business Education Series at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 14, in the Collegiate Performing Arts Center. Conley's presentation, "Rebel Rules . . . Daring To Be Yourself in Business," is open to the public free of charge.
Conley is the founder of Joie de Vivre, California’s largest independent hotel company and America’s second largest boutique hotelier. Also a best-selling author, his latest book is The New York Times bestseller "Emotional Equations: Simple Truths for Creating Happiness + Success." His previous books include "The Rebel Rules: Daring To Be Yourself in Business" and "Marketing That Matters: 10 Practices to Profit Your Business and Change the World."
Conley has been honored with the top awards in hospitality, including the 2012 Pioneer Award by the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, the highest accolade in the industry.
York businesswoman Chloé Eichelberger created in 2011 the first-ever endowed professorship at York College, the Chloé Eichelberger Chair in Business Education, to enhance the College’s ability to prepare future business leaders. In addition, her gift allowed the College to establish The Chloé Eichelberger Business Education Series.
